The door consists of a galvanised steel panel and steel frame in a durable paint finish. Steel up and over doors are available in a wide range of styles, finishes, and colors, providing you with a wider range of options compared to other types of garage doors. They are available as either canopy, retractable or retractable plus gearing as an option to increase drivethrough width, as well as the option to upgrade to a four point locking system for added security.

Our timber up & over garage doors are separated into two ranges; the solid cedar range which is constructed from solid red cedar, and the Elizabethan range which is built from a combination of plywood and solid red cedar. These doors provide natural beauty and warmth that can only be found with real timber; available stained from factory or primed to be stained, with the right care and attention these doors will last for years to come. Yes they have come a long way since the original single point locking. Doors now using 2 point locking as standard, with the option to upgrade to 4 point locking. Though they are more secure options on the market, the up & over door still provides a reasonably secure door at a reasonable price.
Yes, this option can be motorised, as long as there is power available in your garage.
They require yearly maintenance which consists of spraying all the mechanics down with a silicone base lubricant, as well as the painted finish of the door being washed down once a year, or when dirty, with a light detergent and a non abrasive clean sponge.
The doors lack of insulation and the need of gaps for the door to open, create constant airflow through the door. Also canopy doors with no tracks into the garage (although they have windlocks) can blow closed in high wind situations as they stick out of the garage 1/3, whereas the retractable up & over door are more stable, retracting fully into the garage (with the downside of tracks taking up storage space).
High Security
All the manufactures we work with come with varying levels of security. Where some doors carry a higher rating than others (SBD rated secured by design recognised by both police and insurers), some can be upgraded with extra locking systems/alarms to improve the security rating of your door and home.
