Maintaining your door:

• If your garage or front door is brand new, or been in place for years, all doors are suppose to be maintained regularly. On new doors this is essential to validate the warranty with most manufactures. This can be as simple as spraying the internal mechanics, such as hinges, rollers, tracks and pivot points of the door with a silicone spray lubricant. The external surface finish of the door also requires maintenance. Keeping the finish of your door free of sediment regularly and washed down with a multi surface light detergent is the best way to keep your warranty valid.

Servicing your door:

• Most doors however at some point in their life cycle will require a trained garage door engineer to asses, repair and renew parts of the door. It could be to check the spring tension and balance of the door, replace a frayed cable or reprogram a motor. Maintenance is key to avoiding the critical failure of a door and extending the doors life. Avoiding regular maintenance could cost you substantially more or even a new door in the future!
